Minnie Mouse was born...

At my house.  For real. =)

Minnie Mouse...
Jenna's 1st Birthday, Decor.

I will get a better photo of this at the party.. sorry, looks better on my phone.

First, you are going to need:
  • 3 styrofoam balls.  Two will be the same size (for ears) and one larger one for the head.
  • Three pieces of wooden dowel.  (This really depends how high you want your "head" to stand up.)
  • Black spray paint
  • Small flower pot. (Make sure it has a paintable surface.)
  • Foam filler (This will be used in the first step, inside your flower pot.)
  • Ribbon of your choice.  Mine was pink with black tiny dots.

Start off with taking your foam filler.  I had to buy a size larger than what my pot was, so I just took a regular butter knife and shaved it down until I had the right "size" for my pot.  Make sure you push your foam all the way inside the pot so it won't be sticking above your flower pot in the end.
Next, you will need to take your wodden dowel and figure out how tall your "neck" needs to be.  When you decide on what measurement you think works best for you, stick one end of the dowel into the foam filler in your flower pot, and the other end into Minnie's "head".  I tried to make sure mine went about half way through the ball, just so I knew it would hold.

Next you will need to take the two foam balls you are using for Minnie's ears, and place a wooden down into each of them.  Be sure and try and them as even as possible.
I, of course, didn't take picture of the spraying it black.  I figured you were all smarties and knew how to do that part on your own :)  Oh, and I also painted the flower pot in there somewhere too! (Sorry, kind of forgot I was supposed to be taking pictures too..)

At this point, I let it sit for a few days like this.  Then I did any needed touch-ups where the black wasn't as vibrant as it should be.

Next up...

I found this ribbon at Walmart.  It was just perfect for what I needed and how much I needed for this project.  I simply measured out how much ribbon I would need to make a complete circle around the widest area of the flower pot, snipped it, hot glued it, and there ya have it.  Easy.
Next up, I made a bow for Minnie.  I mean she has to have a pink bow, yes?  Without it, it was simply a black mouse head.  We can't have that!

Well there you go ladies... and that is how Minnie Mouse was born at my house.

Now, we all know what her dress looks like since I've mentioned it before, BUT in case you missed it...

And a dress isn't just a dress without some hair action, right? And bless her.. she has the hair to work it like a big girl.
I have no idea why this looks red here, but I promise it's pink and matches.. ha!
I found these bows at Walmart, and just took them home and hot glued them onto some alligator clips for the princess to wear as bows with her pigtails. :)

Smash Cake?
Again, no idea why it all looks red now.. but this is pink with some orange mixed in.  No, I didn't really want the orange, but I had to take what I could find.

She will wear this bad boy when she is smashing her birthday cake.  I cannot wait to see this kid in this thing.  Imagine my Jenna bugg in this tutu, no shirt, pigtails, and cake all over her chunky body.  Precious.

I should show you the inspirations and see how well I can make it come true.
First up, the cake.

Obviously it will say Jenna instead of Sarah...
and the cupcakes are going to look like this...

Are you as excited as I am???
Next up, the party pictures!!!!!!!!!
