Wedding Brain!

When I got engaged I was chomping at the bits to start the planning process. But it was Christmas time and everyone was busy with buying gifts, getting their shopping lists in order, and figuring out how to make it to all their places in a two day span. So, I let my wedding planning take a back seat. But I made the comment several times that come December 26, my wedding was priority and I was going to step into my long awaited spotlight.

And long awaited it has been. There's been times in my life I truly didn't think I ever would find someone worthy enough to marry and I knew I'd never settle. I'd much rather been a single woman with a lot of dogs than marry a man I wasn't completely head over heels in love with.

To say B is my miracle is even an understatement in itself.  God gave me B, and I believe that with my whole heart.  We both walked down the heartache path and ended up in each other's company by His doing, not by chance.

So, I did what I said I'd do.  I spent Christmas with our families, and then woke up on Dec. 26th with my wedding details filling my brain.  That morning I started calling, setting up appointments to go visit venues and look at different wedding details.  I wiped the dust off my wedding planner and started my dream come true.

By Dec. 29th, I'd found a venue I loved and was head over heels with excitement to be finally really planning the wedding of my dreams.  My mom was with me and she kept saying "I love it. I love it. I love it."  I sure did too.  And tears welled up in my eyes when I looked back on it as we were driving off.   On Jan. 1, I took B and my dad along on the ride and let them see the venue.  They both gave their thumbs up that yes this place was great, and affordable, and very doable (even in case of rain!)! So it was official.  I told them to change my name from tentative on the books to permanent.

That same day I made an appointment for bridesmaid dress looking. My wedding wheels were turning and I was on cloud 9, just like I thought I'd always be when this moment came.

I've devoted my life to Pinterest and my wedding board is massive.  I've been dreaming of things to do as far as decor and food.  I've been envisioning my wedding there with our friends and family.  I've never been so happy in my life.

This past weekend was a big weekend of accomplishments.  I traveled back to the wedding venue Saturday morning, officially paid and booked it. I came home and researched honeymoon locations, and yesterday officially booked that (for UNDER budget!) and I met with the girl who will handle my decorating.

I feel like I'm on top of the moon with excitement and am so grateful to have a supportive group of people in my life who are excited right along with me.  I just feel SO lucky right now.  God just keeps blessing me!

I'm going to give a more in-depth post regarding our venue, but for now a sneak peek of it and our view on our honeymoon is what you'll get! ;)

This is the back view, but isn't it gorgeous?  Perfect for my little rustic wedding! :)

My honeymoon view...Gosh, I cannot wait to be there!
