Choices

Choices are in our every day lives.  Some are hard, some easy, and some just plain devastating.  I have witnessed so many of my friends go through trials and make choices that weren't neccesarily the "right" ones in my opinion, but I was a friend and knew they had to make those decisions on their own.  But what happens when you feel lost and like you cannot make a decision?  Do you turn to your parents, friends, husband, etc.?

I want to encourage you to trust someone who is always there for you.  That someone is God.  He is there when we are down on ourselves.  He forgives our sins when we aren't ready to forgive ourselves.  He has all the answers and knows them even before you realize there is a problem.  He hands you trials in life to help you, to grow you.

So many people don't trust in God the way they should.  They find it more "convenient" to throw their issues on their families and friends and a lot of times, their spouses. It's not something I touch on very often, but I do feel like I've had a first hand account of verbal/mental abuse.  It can leave someone feeling very down and low in their self-esteem.  But trusting in God will heal those wounds.  He can make the worst of days have a ray of sunshine appear.  He can change your life, if you let Him.

Like I said, we make choices every day.  Some are so small we don't even realize we "make" them.  It's became second nature.  Friends are one of those choices.  It's very easy to get swept into a group of people who influence you in a bad way when you choose to make the decision to hang around them.

I've really concentrated more on who I want to spend my time with these days.  Back a few years ago, I would have had some different friendships in my life.  Today, I do not.  I only want to consume myself in positive, healthy, God-loving relationships.  I don't want to get dressed up and go to a party where there is lots of senseless drinking.  I don't want to be around that kind of scene.

I would much rather pick up my Bible and head to church.  I want to listen to K-Love and sing good Christian songs.  I want to see more movies like God's Not Dead in theaters.  I want to be around Christian friends who want to talk about the great things in life.

I want the Lord's presence in my life.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you I Peter 5:6-7

And I want the Lord's presence in YOURS. And I would love to hear your love for God, or pray for you.  Let's help keep God's love alive!
