My December To Do List

It's that wonderful time of the year, December..

I really want to make the most of the month, so I've came up with a list for the month. xx. Wrap the Christmas presents. xx. Get the Christmas tree up and decorated. xx. Decide on the Christmas meal (to be held at my house 12/24) xx. Buy some eggnog and sit aside a night for Christmas movies and relaxation. xx. Order & send Christmas cards. xx. Get outfits together for family picture (12/25) xx. Get a small tree or Brian & I's new ornament tree. xx. Go see Christmas lights. xx. Celebrate my brother-in-law and sister-in-law's birthdays! (12/16 and 12/31) xx. Get a good family Christmas shot during the holidays. What is on your December list?

Kindness

So I was on the way back to work today from lunch, and lost in thoughts of what to get each person for Christmas, how to pay for it, etc.  And then the radio just broke in my thoughts and it was a story I want to share.   I mentioned already this week the loss of Paul Walker.    But I learned something new about him today- that he had a heart of gold.   Apparently ever since his death, his Facebook page has been filling with memories of things that he did for people along the way, total gifts of kindness.   One in particular was about him going into a jewelry store one day where there was a soldier and his girlfriend in the store shopping for engagement rings.  Paul overheard the girl say she really loved this particular ring, and then heard the boy tell her it was too much and he could not afford it.   Paul secretly went to the counter and paid for that ring, costing $10,000.00 and told the clerk to put it on his tab.    Amazing, huh?   I wish there were more people in this world like that. Not to be handing out expensive jewelry or even spending a dollar.  I just wish for more people with the heart for it.   Today's world has became so materialistic that it scares me for m future children.  That's not the environment I want them to grow in and it's certainly not the kind of things I will be teaching at home.   So, this year, take a moment and really evaluate what is the true meaning of Christmas and a kind Godly heart.  I bet it's not having the most expensive new gadgets.  Think on that one a little while..

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and spent time with your loved ones.   As we all know, we are not promised tomorrow at all.   With that said, I want to pay my respects to Paul Walker.

5 on Friday!

  I'm back for my second week of 5 on Friday!   1// There's baby Kayla.  (See, I've sported these long locks for awhile.) 2// A sweet picture of my mother in law, myself, and my mother at the rehearsal dinner when I presented them their personalized handkerchiefs. :) ((Thanks to my sweet sister-in-law for the picture!)) 3// Lunch.  And not just any ole lunch.  My husband works half days on Tuesday, so lunch time this past Tuesday I came home to find my lunch made, with a cute little note on top! 4// A snapshot from our wedding.  :) 5// Seriously, it's the weirdest/most annoying thing EVER but you need to go hear this song.  Our nephews LOVE it. :)  And now, well, so do I. :)

One of my absolute favorite bloggers, Samantha from Hooah and Hiccups, did a little get to know her post.  I immediately knew I wanted to join in since I recently re-vamped my blog and gained some new followers. :) So, without anymore rambling..  The girl behind the blog:

1. This is me, Kayla.  I'm the one who is behind all these words.

2. I'm a choc-o-holic.  Seriously if you have chocolate around, HIDE IT.

3. My husband and I just took our honeymoon to Gatlinburg, TN.  We were so blessed to have this trip and this incredible cabin for a week!  ((And we can't wait to go back!))

4. Speaking of my husband....

Isn't he the cutest!?  Well, I sure think so.  And I grow more in love with him every single day.

5. This is a throwback to our first year anniversary.  I knew then I was with the man I'd marry.  Not long after this picture, we were engaged.
6. Brown and black are my favorite colors.  For real.

7. Anything leopard- I want it, no NEED it.  
8. Pictures are my passion and I'm dying for a DSLR camera of my own.
9. Between Brian and I we have 5 nephews and 1 niece.  We are the Brady Bunch.
10. I got my fairy tale wedding this past October...

Changes..

I knew after the wedding I wanted to do something different with my hair, but I just wasn't sure WHAT that something would be.   I didn't want to cut it, for sure.  Brian doesn't like short hair and I personally think long hair makes my round fat face look thinner.  So, the only other option was to color it.

  So I did.  

  What do you think?  Love? Hate?

Mr. & Mrs. White {Part Four: The Ceremony}

This it is.  The last and final re-cap of the wedding day.  
After such a wonderful, and thankful morning of less than crazy, I was so ready for the big day.

After a few bridal portraits, it was time to get in the car an make the drive to meet my man!

I asked Lindsey to ride with me on the way there :) 

Once we arrived at the Lodge, we wanted to make sure I was there and able to get out without Brian seeing me before it was time.  So we circled around and I felt like I was someone important, ha! 

 This is my wedding spot.  This is also where Brian and I had first look.

That was one of the best decisions ever, and if you are getting married then I recommend it.

After the sweetest ceremony, we went into our reception.  It was awesome to just mingle with everyone and finally relax!

After all the fun and excitement of the big day, Brian and I changed clothes, said our goodbye's to our family, and headed for Gatlinburg.  

My wedding day was a dream from the time I was a small child and one October 12, 2013 it all became a reality.
