God's Working!

Comments (2)

WOW.  This weekend was amazing!
First of all, I'm going to admit that I did NOTHING for the biggest part of the weekend, but that is completely beside the point, right? :)
Friday night after work, Brian and I made our normal trip to Lowe's.  In case anyone is new around here, that's my husband favorite store and we typically have a Friday night "date" there, LOL.  I was really tired from not sleeping well the night before so I just kind of followed him in a daze.  We were home and I was in bed at 8pm, for real.  And the best thing, I didn't wake up until around 11 am Saturday morning.  I think my body was just THAT desperate for sleep.
I got up, took a shower, and got right back into clean pajamas.  It was SO nice.  I spent the entire Saturday just like that.
Then today was awesome.  We got up and ready for church where our sweet Bryce was baptized!  His mother sang a song and dedicated it to him and his dad did his baptizing.  The tears were flowing and God was showing out.

God is SO good.  I am living proof every day!

Bloggeritis

Dude.  It's been real lately.  I have been on the go almost 24/7 outside of work, and that has left very little time for things such as cleaning the house, laundry, and of course, blogging.  I have missed blogland though.  I've tried to keep up via Bloglovin' with some of you, but I know I've missed some great things.

And then there comes another issue, bloggeritis.  Remember when you were in high school and you developed "Senoritis" and you just had no motivation anymore?!  Well, that is kind of where I am right now with the blog.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE blogging and am grateful for the friends and opportunies I've made from the blogging world, but lately I've lost my go getter.  I know it's basically because I'm exhausted by the time I get home and don't feel like looking at another computer screen.  And let's not forget that I might have actually made it home before 8pm.

I am grandma, and grandma's need sleep.  And I have been missing it.

But, with all that said, I'm going to take a deep breath and work on getting over this hump.  I have literally over 10 posts sitting in my drafts section that just need to be finished and published.  And even that has been too much lately.

So, bare with me as I get back into the groove of things.  Life has just worn me out lately!

A Weekend to Remember!

Wow, I feel like I have not published a blog in forever.  My apologizes for that one.  Life has been rather hectic lately! But I wouldn't trade it all because God has been working ALL around me lately.

This weekend was a VERY special weekend for the White side of the family.  After months of planning and talking behind her back, my brother-in-law planned a surprise proposal for Lindsey.

We met at a local restuarant to celebrate Bryce's birthday.  But what Lindsey didn't know is that she was getting more than family time.

It was a very sweet proposal.  Each of us had our own sign to hold up and take part in Ben's big question.  I know she was caught off guard!  Congrats Ben and Lindsey and officially welcome to the White clan!

After the propoal, Brian, Ben, Lindsey, and myself all went to see God's Not Dead.  Believe me, if you have not seen this movie then you NEED to go.  You will walk out of there with a new sense of yourself and living for God.  It is a huge eye opener and I plan on owning it one day.  It's a MUST SEE.

Saturday for lunch we met up with my wedding photographer and Lindsey booked her for her wedding.  I'm SO excited to know we will get to see more of Amanda!  She did a fantastic job on my own wedding and I know she will for Ben and Lindsey as well.  Not to mention she is one of my best friends now.

After a good lunch and catching up, Brian and I went by to see my little sidekick, Jenna.  She was all wound up on sugared donuts, LOL!

Sunday was another big day for us.  After church and a family lunch, we took Brad home with us while the rest of the crew went to see God's Not Dead.  They loved it as much as we did and came out of there feeling a spritual high just as we had Friday night!

It was so much fun hanging out with my little man and enjoying some snuggle time.  After the crew was out of the movie, they came and hung out with us awhile.  Then, the best thing happened.  I was watching The Walking Dead and I got a FaceTime call from Bethany.  Now this is not usual for us.  Bethany and I text ALL the time, but not FaceTime, so I moved back to the bedroom and answered.  Bryce was there, so I was talking to him and then he starts crying.  I immediately think something bad is wrong.  And then he tells me why he is calling.  And they were the sweetest words..
"I just asked Jesus into my heart."

Ya'll.  I mean really, I died inside.  That was the best thing I had heard.  My sweet Bryceman has made his eternal decision and there just are NO words to describe how AWESOME that is to hear!  The tears were flowing, and they lasted awhile.

We are rejoicing today people.  GOD'S NOT DEAD!

Nesting

As most of you know, Brian and I got married back in October.  He moved into the house I was already living in so there has been some adjusting that needed to be done over the course of the last five months.  We combined our things into ONE closet, figured out how we jointly want to have the house look, etc.

Living with Brian is nothing less than great, and I mean that.  But combining two people's belongings is hard work.  I know those of you who are married or live with your significant otther can relate.

Last night, I went into our closet to simply put up the laundry.  I ended up in there over an hour "re-organizing" the entire thing.  I separated Brian's clothes out to where he can easily find work clothes verses date clothes.  I should have done that a long time ago.  It would have saved us both time! LOL.

I also cleaned out the shelves in our closet and made a lot more room. Brian asked me if I had caught my second wind.  I guess I did for a little bit.  But that got me to thinking about all the things I wanted to get done around the house.

So I decided when I get home from work today, I want to walk room by room and make a list of things that I can achieve.  That should be good motivation, right?

How did you handle "nesting" with your husband?

Oh, and don't forget I'm over on Katie's blog, A Worker At Home, today, come see me!

The month of March holds two anniversaries.. the passing of two very important people in my family.

This past Thursday was the 18th anniversary of my grandmother's death.  I can still remember that day vividly as we all gathered around her bed and watched her take her final breath in this life.  She was loved by so many and still very missed by us all.

Secondly, today marks the 31st anniverary of my oldest brother passing, way too soon.  He was only a couple weeks shy of his 12th birthday when a car hit him.  It was a tragic moment in my family's life.  I wasn't even born yet so I didn't ever get to meet this wonderful brother of mine.  But his memory lives on in my heart.

This picture was taken at my wedding this past October.  This was the photo for "my" family picture.  Of course, Daryl's picture was used. He is my brother still, no matter what his tombstone reads.  The guys in the blue shirt and the white shirt are my other two good looking brothers!

We love you Mamaw and Daryl, and we can't wait to see you again!

P.S.- Don't you love that lightshining in?  That's my grandmother and brother's presence.  No doubt.

Wednesday in the Word

Comments (5)

Good morning, dolls.  How is everyone on this fine Wednesday?  The weather here has turned off back cool and looking stormy so I'm hoping for no bad weather later tonight.  I'm SO ready for Spring and Summer to make it's appearance and stick around.  My soul needs sunshine.

Today I'm linking up with Jessi from Frankly My Dear.  This girl is awesome in her love for the Lord and after talking to her, we actually are orignally lived near each other and didn't even know it!  Small world!  Go check her blog out and get to know this sweet girl.

John 16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

Honestly, I would say that most days I feel like I have troubles and things that I worry over.  It may be as small as what to eat for lunch, or as important as how to pay the huge gas bill we got in the mail.  Either way, it is a part of our daily lives to worry.

We live in a society that gives us plenty of things to be troubled over.  Each day the crime rates grow and more lives are taken for senseless acts.  This world we live in needs help.  It needs God.

People want to lean on prayer when it is convient for THEM, but God doesn't work that way.  God wants you to lean on Him during good and bad days alike.  The troubles you face cannot be blamed on God for "not answering a prayer."  We, as humans, make our lives and the things we face come to us based on how we choose to live our lives day to day.

We need to remember to not loathe in self pity, but rather give our troubles to God.  He already knows those troubles and has a plan for our lives.  Seek Him.

Operation Smile {Review}

Comments (4)

I was contacted by CampusBookRentals and offered compensation for this review.

Operation Smile is a charity for children's medical expenses.  This money helps heal children's smiles, and forever changing their lives.
Did you know that every 3 minutes a child is born with a cleft? One in ten of those children will die before their first birthday.  Those are scary numbers to me.  And even those who survive, struggle with being able to eat, speak, socialize, and smile.
Every child deserves to be able to do each of these things.  In many cases, parents whose children face this problem cannot afford the costs associated with corrective surgery.  This is where Operation Child comes into the situation.

Source

Operation Smile is the largest, volunter-based, medical charity who provides free cleft surgeries.  Since they have been in operation since 1982, they have provided more than 3.5 million evaluations and over 200,000 free surgeries.

Operation Smile works in over 60 countries, saving children's lives.

There are six ways that you know a procedure was Operation Smile:
1. They reach the unreachable.
2. They work from the heart.
3. They apply Global Standards of Care
4. They build self-sufficiency worldwide.
5. They lead the way.
6. They continually educate and train.

You can read more about the details of those six qualities by clicking here.

Of course, Operation Smile takes donations of any kind.  If you feel like you want to give, then please see here for more information on how to give to this worthy cause.

Another way that Operation Smile gets funds donated is through textbook rentals.  If you are in college, or know someone who is, then you should be aware that there are several perks of renting books.
-Saving 40-90% off of bookstore prices
-Free Shipping both ways.
-Freedom to highlight in the textbooks
-Flexible renting periods

Campus Book Rentals and RentBack are two sources you can use to rent books.

RentBack is a new tool that allows students to rent textbooks they own to other students.  That means 2-4 times more money than selling them back to bookstores at the end of the semester.  I'd say that's a win!

If you would like to know more about how it works, then see these videos.

Why not save some money, and a smile, today? :)

Blessed into 3-0!

Comments (7)

Well, I'm coming to you a year older.  Saturday was my birthday and I hit the big 3-0!

I celebrated all weekend long and it was absolutely fabulous!  Friday, after work, I was greeted at home by Lindsey (future sister-in-law) with some yummy cupcakes and a new shirt!  It was good to see her since she's been gone for a few weeks at college.  We sat and chatted and caught up on things.

Saturday, I woke up to my sweet husband telling me Happy Birthday and then my mom and Jenna coming to see me, with flowers and cupcakes!

We rode around town and even went to our first yard sale of the season!  The weather was SO nice and pretty! We ended our little morning with milkshakes!

After they dropped me back off at my house, I got ready for a night out with my husband.  We left for Tupelo and did some shopping with my birthday money from my parents' and him.  I got some new work pants, candles for the house, work-out clothing, sunglasses, and some new shampoo to try on my hair. More on that in a few.

We also took time and ate at one of our favorite places in Tupelo, Fair Park Grille.  Both Brian and I just love this little place and consider it "our place."  I already can't wait to go back! If you are ever in Tupelo, give it a try!

Sunday morning was church where my sweet in-law's all showered me with gifts and then we headed back to Tupelo with my parents' for the rest of the birthday celebrations!  We ate at Mt. Fugi and got stuffed full!  It was Brian's first time eating at  Hibachi and he loved it!  I definetly think we will be visiting there again sometime!

It was such a wonderful birthday weekend for me.  Turning 30 isn't so bad!  I was blessed with lots of love from family and friends.  I couldn't ask for more!

Hello, March!

Comments (15)

March, already?!  Wow.  Is it just me or is time FLYING?

Last month, I posted my February Goals. Even though I didn't get them all completed, it was definitely something I want to continue here at MS Mrs.  It is a great way to keep me accountable.

"Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible to the visible." -Tony Robbins

One// No junk food for the month.  This isn't something I can really argue with since my doctor has me on a diet. But I like knowing I can add this one, and beat it.  Yes, I admit it.

Two// Exercise 4 times per week.  This again is doctor's orders, but not something I can easily do. I'm not much into working out.  I never have been much of a fitness pro.  This will be HARD work for me, for sure.

Three// Complete my office re-design. I'm not sure if this means painting too, but it for sure means cleaning out and de-cluttering.

Four// Sell some items I'm no longer using.  I have been making a pile in the extra bedroom.  It is time for it to go.  I can't stand the mess anymore.

Five// Finally move all Christmas items into storage.  It's true.  I don't have them out as decorations anymore, but they are sitting in that messy spare bedroom and I need them to be out of sight.ha!

Do you have any special goals for March?

Ps. I have one "extra" one.  Celebrate my birthday in style! The big 3-0!
