I've been blogging here at Mississippi Mrs. for awhile now.  I've shared things I really love and many exciting things in my life.  But I don't often speak of the "weak" things about myself, the things that really show my true self.

So, I figure it's time to open up a bit more.

+ I'm really shy when I first meet someone.  I'm much more of a listener than a talker.

+ I pin lots of things on Pinterest for being a "healthier" me, but in reality I'm lazy and don't know how to get started into this whole "working out" lifestyle.  Help.

+ I bite my fingernails, and have since I was 6.

+ I have psoriasis.  On any given day, I may be seen "shaking off" my shoulders from the the scales.  It is on my elbows and my scalp.  It's not something I'm completely comfortable with yet, but that has definitely gotten better the older I have gotten.

+ I'm OCD to a annoying limit.  Really.  Ask my husband.

+ I'm a chronic complainer when it comes to dining out.  If you don't re-fill my drink or ignore me then you should know I'm calling in on you.  And getting free gift cards.

These are just a few of my "flaws."  What kind of things do you have that are weird tendencies?

Recap: Vol I, II, III, IV.

Chapter 10 Pausing For A Moment - Chapter 12 The Lord Who Sanctifies You

I love how in the opening of this chapter, she states how she simply reacts to situations rather than truly listening and relying on God.  We all do this and we all need to strive to fix this.

Now, I'm not going to lie to you.  Marking the words in this exercise was challenging for me.  I really don't grasp things or ideas that way.  It's just not in how I learn.  So this section really didn't help me. I can see the reasoning behind it and hope that you (who do like it!) found it beneficial.

Here we are introduced to another name, Jehovah-nissi, meaning "The Lord is My Banner."

I want my banner to wave high and proud.  On judgment day, I want My Banner to show my obedience to Lord.  I love how it says "You are not alone on that battlefield; look to the Lord your banner."

Isn't it nice to know He has us and comforts us when we most need it?!

Jehovah-mekoddishkem is the next name given to us.  This means the Lord sanctifies you.

What did you think of this week's studies?

**Also, I want to bring your attention to something.  I know most of you have heard of The Unveiled Wife.  Well, I was chosen as one of the bloggers to participate in doing her 30 day devotional study.  I am starting it today and would love to have some of you do it with me as well, if you would like.

unveiledwife.com Wife After GodI am hoping this will provide a new outlook on my marriage with Brian.  We are still newlyweds, but I know some days I could do more as his wife to support him.  I am ready to God to show me something in this study.  I'm eager to learn.

I will be posting my final review on September 1, 2014.

Let's let God control our lives and marriages.

A...B...C....of me!

It's always nice to get back to the basics when it comes to blogging.  Sometimes new faces appear and they want to know more about YOU than what you did the previous weekend.  That's where this post comes into play.  One of my favorite blogging gals, Erin, posted this over on her blog.  And I did the nice thing and stole it.  But I told her I was going to so it's all cool.  Right, Erin?
So, me... A-Z!

A. Type A.  I'm with Erin on this one. I take it to a new level.
B. Brian, my husband.

AKA the hottie I show off on this blog. :)

C. Christian.  Love my God!
D. Dogs that run my house.
Everyone, meet Reagan and Roxie.
E. Earplugs are a must.  I wear them every night to bed. Bring on the snores from the husband, ha!
F. Fried pickles.  OBSESSED lately. (And now craving some...)
G. Green is my second favorite color.  Next to brown. :)
H. Honeymoon is coming in October.  I can't wait to hit the road with my sweetie.
I. Instagram junkie.  I adore it. Find me @mrskaylawhite
J. Job- I work at a bank.
K. stands for me!
L. Love. I know it's an over-used word for L.  But I really am a lover.  I love people and will give them anything I can or do what I what I can.  But if you mistreat me, then it's done. I'm through for life.
M. Married last October. #bestdecisionever

N. My former last name.  And sometimes it's weird when I see it on mail.  #oldandmarriednow
O. Ocean.  I love the beach.  It's mine and Brian's favorite place to visit.
P. Pictures are my jam.  I take too many and annoy people, but later on they thank me for doing so!

R. Reading is my pastime. I love a good book that I can relate to. Suggestions?
S. Sleeping has moved way up on my priority list over the years.  I'm a total sucker for a nap now!
T. Tender-hearted.  My husband tells me all the time I need to work on this.  And its true.  I can hold my own when I get upset, but first... first I cry.
U. Ulta.  I could spend hours in there just looking. Good thing there's not one here in my hometown!
V. Vacation. We just got back and it was fantastic!

W. W's are my other jam.  I seriously have a monogrammed house.  Almost.
X. X-rays are no fun.  Womp, womp.
Y. Years of age- 30.  Yikes. No, it's not too bad, most days.
Z. Zaxby's.  My all-time favorite fast food restaurant. And guess what? Corinth is getting one!!!!

SURVIVAL

Comments (4)

I am so excited to bring you today's post.  I was recently contacted by Man Crates and asked to participate in their blogger survey.  The goal of the post is to list 4-5 items that I consider my "must have's" for a survival kit.  However, this isn't for items such as matches, etc.  This is for what you REALLY crave and want to be close to you.

Man Crates design fun ideas for men to be bought as gifts.  You can shop their store by clicking here. All these crates are shipped in their very own wooden crate.

There are sections for what your man likes.  For example, there is a section for "Gamers" and that's where I would look when it comes to Brian's likes and interests.

This Retro Gamer Crate would be something right up his alley.
source
I have browsed their website, and would encourage you to do the same soon.  You never know what perfect gift awaits you.  And we all know that most men are hard to please when it comes to gift ideas!

So, if I were to survive with 5 items in my crate, what would I want them to be?

Coffee. I can't think of any other way to start the day than with a good cup of coffee in my Ole Miss Tervis.  Oh, and it should have Hazelnut creamer in it for sure.

Fried Pickles. Yes.  I'm dead serious.  I crave these babies like they are almost extinct.  So they are a must! Besides, I gotta eat. #fatkid #problems

Nike sandals. I own a pair of these and they are amazingly comfortable.  I can't imagine not having them on my feet.

LipGloss.  I seriously would die without lipgloss.  I hate "naked" lips.

Kindle. Duh, I gotta have this for entertainment.

What would YOU pack in your survival kit?

And be sure and check out Man Crates and see what they have to offer for the men in your life!

Sunday Spin Vol. II

Comments (1)

Hi! Welcome to the Sunday Spin.  A couple weeks ago, I started this as a way to just recap and relive the previous week's happening, or describe your weekend.  It really has no rules and is whatever you want to make of it.  To see my first Sunday Spin, click here.

This past week was amazing.  Brian's little brother, Ben, has been staying with us while he is home from college, so Brian has been having a good time playing Xbox with him.  Lindsey and I opt for talking about wedding and food, ha!

In case you missed anything, I covered what we did last weekend, and getting to see the very precious Nannie.  I also found a new favorite picture.

Note to self: Get this printed and send to her.

I also linked up and shared my thoughts on #NamesOfGod2014 Vol.2 & #NamesOfGod2014 Vol.3.  I'm loving this study and would encourage you to look into it if you haven't already.

I touched on what Marriage and what it means to be in Community Brew Volume 2.

And then I did a lot of this...packing!  I should mention that as you're reading this, I'm sitting on a beach in Florida.  Yes, I slipped out and away before you knew it!  But don't fear, I have some great posts for this week to keep my face around.

So, ladies, have a great week!  Catch me on Instagram to keep up to date with me.

Oh, and snapchat me! My username is kwhite1012

eShakti {Review}

Comments (6)

I received an eShakti dress as a form of compensation for my honest review.

Blogging has some major perks.  Reviewing great products is one of those perks for us bloggers.

I am grateful that the fine folks at eShakti thought of me and my little blog when they allowed me to pick from their site and order a dress to review for you today.

After looking, and looking, I finally decided upon this Floral Vine Print Maxi dress.  But I have to admit, there were so many cute items that I had a HARD time deciding!

The order process was so simple and hassle-free that I would recommend you taking a look on their site and ordering you something that's sure to make your closet a little happier.

The flow of this dress is so comfortable.  You don't find yourself pulling or tugging at any area. That's a win in my book.  I received several compliments on this dress today and was glad to tell them about eShakti and their line of clothing.

#9TO5TOTALSOCIAL

Comments (7)

Helene in Between
I'm so excited to be back for another #TOTALSOCIAL with Helene.  Today's topic is your "9 to 5" and what that means for you.

So, here is where I spend my 8-4:30 (ha!) since I don't work 9-5!

Looks glamorous, right?

So, I work at a bank if you haven't figured that out by now.  I'm the drive-thru teller and I work as a back up CSR for new accounts/CD/IRA/etc.

Most days, I have a really easy job.  I am one of "those" tellers who has my daily customers that I baby and know what they want to do even before they drive up.  I love working where I get a view of the world outside (even though my view pretty much stinks!)

It may not pay the most, or be the most rewarding job.  BUT I like it and have been here for almost seven years, so something must be right about it. :)

I can't wait to see what the rest of you do every day.

Life Break : Blogging

Comments (8)

It almost feels weird to be back staring at this blank page.  I have been MIA from the blogging scene and this time I actually won't apologize for it.  You see, I had gotten to the point that I was feeling like blogging was just another thing on my to do that I had to check off.  And that's not how I want to feel about this blog.

I started blogging to be an outlet for myself, to write for me, to document the memories that I may one day forget, and to keep anyone who wants to read up to date on my life.

Blogging was never meant to be a chore, and I let it become that.  And I exhausted myself.

I think our bodies have a way of telling us to SLOW down and I had one of those moments about a week ago.  Brian and I had been on the go for what felt like weeks.  He and I are very much homebodies and don't like to always be somewhere.  In fact, I've come to really love my recliner at home.  Now, had you asked me this ten years ago, I would have laughed (a lot!) at you for thinking I wanted to be at home.  Now, it's the place I want to be most.

So, Brian and I had been dealing with a full schedule and I felt my body just desperately seeking more sleep, but I never had the time for the sleep.  So, my body shut down.

Last Wednesday, we took Ben (Brian's little brother) to the airport to drop him off.  He is currently gone on a month long training session to Fort Knox.  We had to leave our home at 3:30 AM in order to get him there for his flight.  I don't regret going at all, but I should have listened to my body a little more.  I had a pounding headache and was sick feeling the entire trip there and back.  When we got back to town, I went on in to work.  Mistake.

I ended up having to leave at 1:00 that day and just go home and sleep.  My body was done.  Exhausted past it's limit.  That day's sleep made me feel a lot better, but I can still tell I'm not 100% caught up yet.

I know this also goes hand in hand with the fact that I need to get up and be more active.  I've gained weight since our wedding and I think the excess weight on my body is making it tire out quicker as well.

So, that's where I've been lately.  I'm coming back this week, but I'm going to allow myself to ease back into this blogging world.  I'm in no competition with anyone and don't want to feel like I have to slave to prove myself here.

I started this blog for me.  I will write when I want in this blog, for me.

Thanks for understanding! And to those of you who have text/email me to check up on me- You are SO SWEET!  And that is exactly the reason I love this blogging community.

Have a great week, friends!

I'm not going to lie..

Comments (11)

I thought about skipping a post in the blog world today.

I woke up with my husband to make his coffee like every other morning, except after I got it done I KNOCKED IT OVER.  An entire large Tervis of coffee just running everywhere, including on me.  Brian ran in to help while I went to grab my glasses.  Yes, I make his coffee with no contacts or glasses every morning.

Well, with all the spilling going on, it ran all over my sleeve of my favorite Victoria Secret pajamas.  This was a fail when I tried to lay back down because my sleeve was wet.  Great.

Next up, I was dressing and doing my hair in a hurry since I had lost some valuable time cleaning this morning.  The left side of my head was fine but the right side didn't want to cooperate.  I fling on some clothes and out the door I went.

On the way to work, I got stopped by a train.  I'm sitting there mumbling and look down to see I put on the wrong pair of pants this morning.  These have a hole in them.  I decide I'm going on in to work and making the best of it.

Of course, it's Monday morning in the banking world and it's crazy.  I screwed up the first thing I touched, forgot my coffee upstairs, and just now sat down to relax.

Now, I won't lie.  I considered this to be a bad morning.  And then I got my weekly motivational email from a co-worker.

There it was.  My moment to sit back and start over.  This is the day that God gave me, even with it's trials.  So thank you, God.  I'm still working on this patience thing.. obviously.  We need to talk some later. :)

Happy Monday, friends!

Coffee Date Vol.2 {Link-Up}

Comments (8)

I'm so tickled to be joining in with Rachel and Madison today as they host this Coffee Date link up.  These two ladies are seriously two of my favorite blogs to read, so when I heard about the coffee date I was completely on board.

source

So, the catch is that we are (virtually!) having a coffee date and sharing what is on our hearts.  Having a good heart to heart conversation with a friend is one of the most fulfilling moments to me.  There is such a vulnerability that comes when two people are being completely themselves.  Blogging has brought me so many new friends that I wish I could sit down with today, but this is the next best thing!

Lately, my heart has been hurting.  I've been putting on a smile and making the most of each day, however, when I get home and in bed at night my head has been swirling.  The simple fact is what sometimes in life you never truly know a person, no matter how long you've been around them.  Unfortunately, it usually takes some type of bad situation to bring out these qualities in people.

source

In the middle of this array of emotions, I've found a new inner peace. For as long as I can remember, I've been Type A personality and driven for organization and success in life.  There have been so many times people have made fun of some of my actions.  I've shrugged it off, but later felt bad that my tendencies were that noticeable.

Brian and I are both OCD about a lot of things in life, but not the same things. That makes for an interesting combination for a "to do" list around our house.  I feel like our opposites worries are completely how we survive.  Brian sees something that I can't, and vice versa.  We compliment each other instead of butting heads like some may think.

Before we were married, I lived alone in my home (with Reagan and Roxie!) for five years.  I had "my" way of doing things such as laundry, loading the dishwasher, cleaning, other chores, etc.  I can look back now and tell you I was uptight.  Too uptight.  Marriage was a blessing for me. Brian does all those things I listed, just in his own way, as I do in mine.  Both jobs get done and things are clean and put away.  I knew within a month of us living together that I HAD to let go of some of my uptight/independent attitude or we were going to have a hard road ahead of us.

Brian even commented one day that he could tell I had slacked off.  That may not be the most romantic thing he has ever said to me, but I tell you right now it stuck out almost as much as him proposing. I knew God had answered my prayer.
source
I don't think I will ever fully let go of my Type A personality and being a fanatic about things being clean and put away.  BUT I do think I have turned over a new leaf and am learning to appreciate LIFE more than organization.  That makes my heart smile.  I just don't want there to be a day that my future child feels like their home is not a home that can be lived in/played in.  I want them to have fun and invite friends over.  I want our home to hold their happy childhood memories.

God already knows this issue on my heart.  He knows I've prayed about this and asked for His help.  And you know what?  He listened to my prayers.

Now, I'm off to clean the house... KIDDING! :) The laundry can wait another day!  I am going to enjoy my husband and the weekend!

Happy Friday, friends!

I"m pretty pumped to see all what this new link-up brings out.  I'm nosey, I admit it freely.

Today's prompt: Your first time.

Get your mind out of the gutter. Not that kind of first time, although someone might want to share that today, ha!  It can be anything you want it to be.  So today,  I'm showing my First Look pictures from my wedding.

I was so glad to see his smiling face when he turned around.  I was getting nervous, but in this moment all those nerves were gone.  I was with my baby.

He checked out my WHOLE dress, apparently.

This picture is one of my favorites.  It shows Brian's personality just exactly.  I love this flower-smelling man of mine! P.S.- That handkerchief around my bouquet disappeared that day, sadly.  But I'm glad I have it in pictures.

What are you showing off for your first time today?
