February Goals

Well, we are into February, and I wanted to set some goals for myself and this blog.
Spend more time away from my cell phone.
Sure, as bloggers, we have this tendency to check our e-mail, and all forms of social media several times during the day.  And that's fine.  But where I notice I spend too much time is while I'm home with my husband.  I want my time to be enjoying my life with him instead of starting at my cell phone screen.  So I'm going to limit myself.
Start a new cleaning routine.
My house isn't "messy" of "dirty" by most people's standards, but I'm not most people.  I'm OCD and there are some areas of my house I want to work on doing more organization and cleaning inside.
Cook more.
Brian and I eat out a lot.  We are blessed to have parents' who like to take us out and feed us so we don't actually cook a lot of meals at home.  But I would like to get back to basics and do more cooking for each other, like we did while dating.
Work on my new business venture.
Some of you know, and some do not.  I am starting to do wedding planning on the side.  I need to work on promoting myself and getting my name out there.
Spend more time with Him.
I have loved the devotionals I took part in during the month of January, so I am looking forward to moving ahead with new ones.  I love my quiet time reading the Word.  It's a blessing for my soul.
Do you have goals set?
Keep up with them by linking up with these ladies like I am!

  2. I think it's a good idea to actively recognize when it's a good idea to put the phone down and be more present! I definitely make a deliberate choice not to turn on my computer when there's a better real life activity to do!

  3. Two thumbs up for cooking!!! When you start cooking more you will realize just how much better it is. This is coming from a girl that used to eat out like every.single.meal! And, it was more of a social thing too!

I'm with you on the cell phone deal. I'm guilty of that!

  4. What awesome goals! I find that sometimes when MBT and I are home and just bumming that I tend to pick up the phone more than I should. I have started using the Do Not Disturb feature and it has helped big time!

  6. I started doing David Jeremiah's daily "Turning Points" devotionals during January and loved them, but I definitely need to spend more time in study than those 4 minutes it takes to read the devotion and bible verse! And wedding planning on the side has always been a dream of mine too! Good luck in focusing more on that (and your other goals!).

  11. Awesome goals! When I spend time with Nick, I'll notice that we're on our phones too often. We actually keep each other pretty accountable though. There are times when one of us is really desiring that quality time and we'll ask that the other put their phone away so we can enjoy the company. It's extremely nice! No thoughts wandering, but just enjoying each others company, even if it's just sitting on the couch watching tv. We're very in tune with each other. Great goal there! I had no idea you started doing wedding planning on the side, honestly, I've thought about doing that myself. I've been in 6 or so weddings now and I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on it. I haven't taken that plunge yet though. Good luck with your business!

  12. Great Goals! Wedding planning is so fun. Good luck on that adventure.

I try and stay away from my phone and computer as soon as my husband walks through the door. I stay at home so I should be able to get all my blogging work done during the day. It works for us.

  13. My devotional book was a HUGE piece of a great January for me. Have you read Jesus Calling? It's a daily devotional that is truly truly amazing. It will really speak to you when you most need it, especially about your new adventure. Thanks for linking up pretty lady! Excited to see you get all these goals knocked out this month.
