All About our Childhoods!

1. What do you miss most about being a kid?

-I miss the freedom of every day.  There was no worries about work, schedules, bills, etc.  It was just a matter of how much longer you had to play until Mom sent you to bed.  Those were the days...

2. Did you have a nickname growing up? What was it?

-Bugg.  It's still my nickname and you hardly hear my parents call me anything but that.  But here's the kicker- no one knows even where it came from.  ha!

3. What was your favorite thing to do at recess?

-Talk with my friends or swing or both, ha! :)  Who would have imagined I'd been into talking? hehehehe

4. What did you want to be when you grew up?

-At the time, I thought a teacher since that's what I'd play most days.  I'd line all my baby dolls up and name them and give them "homework."  Today, there is no way I can see myself as a teacher.

5. What was your favorite toy?

-Barbie & Matchbox cars.  Yes, the boys toy.  I would play with both and was equally happy.

6. What is the funniest thing you did as a kid that your parents still remind you about?

-My mom had this certain bowl that I'd always plop on my head and pretend it was my "hat", well one day she snapped a picture of me wearing it.

And it ended up in my senior annual.   #truestory

Reunion & Giveaway!

Comments (5)

I'm so stoked this morning.  Tonight, I get to see one of my very best friends in the world.  You see, this girl is my sister.  Not my biological sister, but we were meant to be friends.

Sadly, she moved away from here several years ago and we don't get to see each other nearly as much as we'd like.  BUT don't be sad, she found her Mr. Right and is living a wonderful life, so I'm happy for her!

Anyway, she is coming in tonight and spending the night at my house.  This will her first time to meet B and I'm really excited about that too.  She is bringing along her hubby, so B and Jeff can become good pals too.  They are already stuck for life, so they better like each other! ha!

I'll be back Monday with some new pictures of us! :)  Since that one was taken awhile back!

***************************************************************
Next up-

I was hoping to have already had this up and running on the blog, but better late than never, right?

First off, a big THANK YOU to every single one of you who read this blog.  I kept saying when I get 100 Followers, I'm going to give away something.  This morning I'm at 126, so it's just mind blowing for me.

Sure there are lots of blogs with bigger follower numbers, but this is a big deal to me.  And I love each of you!

So, the thank-you prize... (And I wish I could send you ALL one..) is going to be a $10.00 Starbucks gift card.

Thank You Starbucks Card eGift

It will be sent via eGift, so no need in me even needing your address.  But PLEASE be sure you have an actively working e-mail that I can get in touch with you from!  This is where the eGift will be sent!

It's that simple!  I'm not into making this complicated, just want to show you lovely ladies a thank you!

Thanks ladies!  The giveaway winner will be announced on Monday!

It's Ok #1

Comments (2)

I used to do this link up with Neely & Amber, but somewhere I fell off the wagon, soooo today it's back.
Its Ok Thursdays

[It's ok...] to want to still be in bed, even though I got enough sleep last night.
[It's ok...] to already be thinking about getting off work and heading to Blake's basketball game.
[It's ok...] that I've already planned out tonight's dinner with B, and texted him and let him know, haha.
[It's ok...] that I didn't get up and walk this morning, because starting Sunday morning it's a part of my daily routine, no excuses.
[It's ok...] to need more than one cup of coffee in the mornings..
[It's ok...] to fall apart sometimes.  There's (hopefully) some good friends to build you back up!  (Thanks, ladies!)
[It's ok...] to have a close relationship with some "blogger friends" as you do IRL friends.
[It's ok...] to be missing my boyfriend so much.  (Can't wait until tonight, babe!)
[It's ok...] that sometimes life throws you a series of curve balls.  God has your back, always.
[It's ok...] that I skipped reading in my Bible last night.  I needed the extra sleep and I think God would agree, ha!
[It's ok...] to let yourself cry.
[It's ok...] to always speak the truth, even if it hurts.
[It's ok...] that my house isn't going to be as clean as I wanted it for Hillary's visit.  She is coming to see me, not my house.  (Right? haaaaaaaaaaa)
[It's ok...] that this is all I've got for the blog world today.
Don't forget to come back tomorrow to check out my giveaway! :)

[I'm loving..] my boyfriend.  He really means the world to me.  I know I brag on him a lot on here, but truly he is my soul mate and I cannot imagine my life without him in it.

[I'm loving..] that I get to see Hillary and her hubby Jeff this weekend!  This was supposed to been our 10 year class reunion, but since we aren't going we are having our own reunion! Good times!

[I'm loving..] all my goodies I got this past weekend at Countrywood.  I should have taken a picture of my loot before I put it all up in the house, but let's just say I did good!  Example- purses, makeup, clothes, shoes, etc. :)

[I'm loving..] all my reading time in the Bible.  I've been trying to read the Bible from front to back for years, and always get distracted and stop.  This time I'm doing better.

[I'm loving..] that the weather has cooled off.  It's been kind of nice wearing my sweaters!

[I'm loving..] all these new followers on here.  You ladies seriously rock!  And I can't thank you enough!

The weekend mishaps!

Comments (7)

Well, let me recap my weekend for you ladies.

Go grab a Coke. You will need something strong when you read this.

Thursday night: B and I get home around 8:00.  He gets home before me since I stopped to pick up stuff for tacos. (I know.. not healthy. Sue me.)
So I walk in, and B starts cooking me dinner as I run to play with Reagan and Roxie.
B: "babe, what's wrong with Roxie??"
K: "The spots on her stomach? Yeah, I saw them."

And then I knew what he was really talking about...
This is her back where she "shaved" the hair chewing it... :(
                                                              Her belly.

Yes, that's my sweet baby girl on Thursday night.  She had broken out in all these red bumps and basically shaved her back and bitten a sore into herself.

You have no idea how horrible of a mother I felt like I was.  How could my baby be in this shape and me not be on top of this?

Well, there wasn't anything I could do right then except give her as much relief as I could.  I found some older wound spray (hey! don't judge) and sprayed as much as she let me on the spot.

Friday morning, I rushed into the living room and checked her spots.  Luckily, she had not made it worse throughout the night.  But I was in panic mode.  This dog needed to go to the vet and I was supposed to be leaving town at 8:00 AM.

To make a long story short, I dropped Roxie off at the vet and B picked her up that evening.  And the verdict: fleas.

Now before you go thinking my house is nasty or I'm nasty I need to tell you that BOTH of my dogs are completely house-trained and never go outside.

Apparently, my sheltering the dogs has made this worse.  Since they are never "exposed" to the outside, once they are faced with something like that then they are much more miserable than a "normal" dog would be in the case.
So now BOTH Reagan & Roxie are on medications for this and I had a $225.00 vet bill thrown my way.  Great, just greeeeeeat.  Not

Okay. So then fast forward to Sunday.  I get up before church to get myself ready. First things in the morning is always my coffee.  Well, I went to get my creamer out of the fridge and bam... I spilled it ALL over the floor and myself.  Apparently the lid wasn't on good.  I'm just glad I didn't already have my dress on for church.   Ugh.

Walk into my bathroom and find a huge spider. (I'm starting to think it's time for the bug man to visit my house, haha.)  So since I'm not scared of them, it wasn't a big deal until I stepped on it and found out it was a female.  A pregnant one.

Great.  Just great.

So I grabbed my hair spray (closest spraying anything I had near me) and sprayed my entire bathroom floor chasing these little ugly beasts.

Now my floor is sticky.  Great.

Okay.  Then I finally get out of the house (late!) and head to church.  Go to Walmart and see people I don't care to see.  Eat with mom and dad.  Come home and smell something burning.

Dear Glade Plug-In,
You could have killed me, my dogs, and my entire house.  I am not happy with you, especially since I JUST bought you this past Thursday and you weren't cheap.  You did your job of making my house smell fantastic, but if you had succeeded in burning it down, I don't think the smell would be a good standing ground for your argument.  I WILL be contacting Glade company today to let them know my thoughts about you and your performance and how I will NEVER EVER use anything like you again.
-Very unhappy customer

So you see, my loves, this wasn't exactly my desired weekend of things, BUT there is something I want to show off.

I got my leopard lovies!

Ah, now that makes life a little better... :)

Aaaaand, if you aren't tired of me yet then you can click on over and see me at Allie's blog today.  And follow this pretty gal along. :)
Thanks for having me, Allie!

1. What is something you have wanted to do but are afraid of?
-I've wanted to get back into a healthier lifestyle.  I know that's not something to be "afraid of" but making myself participate in another 5K or 10K is, even though I know it would be so great for my body!
This was back years ago!  TIRING, but so rewarding!

2. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
-Hopefully, in that length of time I will have married my love and be fulfilling the job of being the wife I dream of being for B.  I also hope that in 5 years we might be parents to a sweet little boy/girl and living a good, happy life together.

3. What are you looking forward to before the end of 2012?
-Getting some home projects done around my home that I keep pushing back on my "To Do" list.  Now, I just need to convince B to use some of those tools he has! ;)

4. What are your hopes for your blog?
-I just hope my blog becomes something I can look back on in years to come and be reminded of the little day-to-day activities that's made me who I am.  I also hope to use this to reminisce about my relationship with B and how far we've came and the emotions I experienced along the way.  I also hope in this journey that I meet some more lovely ladies that will become some lifelong friends.  ((I've been lucky to already find some!!))

5. Do you always see yourself living in your current town/city?
-Yes.  It is a small town and sometimes that is irritating; however, this is home and always will be home.  This is where my family is and where B's family is.  I cannot think of anywhere else I'd rather be.

6. What is your morning routine?
-My alarm goes off, and after three times of me hitting the snooze button, I climb out of bed.

-First things first-I have to pee. lol. Then, the morning follows the same usual routine:
-Brush teeth.
-Floss.
-Jump in shower. ((I'll save you those deets, ha!))
-Wash face.
-Apply Moisturizer.
-Apply Make-up.
-Blow Dry hair.
-Dress in clothes for the day.
-Style my hair.
-Pack what I need for the day. Ex. Coffee, clothes (if it's a ballgame day and I can't come home after work!), Lunch, &&& planner (because you never know!).
-Drive the whole 3 minutes it takes to get to work. ((Yep, seriously!!))
-Arrive at work.
-Slave away! ;)

**Sidenote, Any interest in the products I use?! Possible blog post.. Give me some feedback!**

Where am I?

Gettin' Whitty With It...

Confused?  Don't be.  I'm talking about the funny, gorgeous, talented Whitney!  She blogs over at I WORE YOGA PANTS TO WORK.  If that name alone isn't enough reason to check her out, then let me tell you something else.  Look around my page, see how cute it is now?

Yep, she done it.  I told you she is talented! So, if you are thinking about a new blog design- email her!  I bet she can fix you up.  I am incredibly happy with mine!  Isn't that little leopard bow THE CUTEST THING, like ever????

Go check out her blog, you will not be sorry that you did.  And follow her on twitter.  The girl is funny!

Okay, enough of me. Here she is...  ((Missssss Ameeeeeeerica..... ))

Hey everyone, like Kayla said, I'm Whitney and I house my twisted thoughts over at I Wore Yoga Pants. It's so sweet of Kayla to call me all of those nice things, I think she's pretty terrific, too. Thank you Kayla, by the way, for inviting me to come ramble on your blog. You're a brave, brave soul!

That's me on the left and that's me on the right.

No, I don't adore myself soooo much that I need to show you how I look with and without sunglasses (because we all know everyone always looks better with shades on... no, just me? my bad) but on the left is me when I'm all primped up and proper and the right is me on a normal day. I likez to party. I also demand that my "good side" is my left side. Anyone else?

Fun fact: According to some study, that is official enough to be posted somewhere I was allowed access to read it, most people prefer photos of their selves from the left side.

See that? I'm full of knowledgable nonsense like that, which may or may not be 2% accurate. You know, the stuff that really no one cares too much about.

Moving on... I love wine. A lot. Specifically a nice glass of Chardonnay. And by glass, typically that means a good dent in a bottle. Which is why I prefer to dispense my wine from a box...

I know you're all probably thinking Kayla must have been drunk off her ass when she asked me to write a post for her, but don't knock it till you try it.

This budget friendly cardboard box houses some pretty delish chard. I convinced that plastic bags are the new green glass bottles.

but that's just me.

Pair it with some fancy cheese... it'll make you feel more fancy.

Also, calling it Cardboardeux wine will make it feel far more fancy. (thank you to my sweet friend Tay for this one)

Not to say I don't prefer the finer wines in life... If I could drink this wine every single night I'd be on that shiz like nobody's business, but I have yet to win the lottery and so I've got to stick to the Cardboarduex wine.

PS. Am I the only one who craves bread when someone tells me that the wine I'm ordering is "buttery"? No, just me? K... moving on.

So, aside from loving wine, I love my dogs, taking photos, watching ridiculous reality television shows, painting my nails, shopping (when I'm not broke.. or even when I am sometimes), blogging (har har, obviously), cooking (don't tell anyone), and a bagillion other things that us girly girl types like.

I have a collegiate bachelors degree but I have to say that my greatest teacher and influence in life has been professor Google. You see this pretty little layout I created for sweet Kayla? Yeah, I learned all of the coding and such from sir Google - such a great teacher that Googz is.

Also, Dr. Google is my favorite (free) medical provider. Dr. Googz has been misdiagnosing me for years, yet I continue to be a faithful returning patient. What can I say? I'm a sucker for the wealth of (mis)knowledge. I've had multiple diseases in my short 25 years, according to my main doc, Googz. One time the Googz told me to drink more booze when I had a hangover and then I ended up drunk again. Sometimes I worry about Googz... he might drink more than I do.

What else do you all need to know about me?

Well, I'm going to be a reality star one of these days.
Think Snooki but blonde, a lot less tan, add in a bunch of Elle Woods and equally as much of a train wreck.

I'm thinking I can rock the hell out of a big ass blonde poof. What do you all think?

Alright, I'm pretty sure I should wrap this thing up here shortly before I scare off all of you lovely ladies that haven't already clicked the red "X" by now. Thank you Kayla for letting me sabotage your blog today! Love you lots and I'm so happy you love your design. :)

We had a date.

Comments (8)

At home.  And it was fabulous.

If you follow me on Instagram ((and if you don't, then you should.)) then you seen what kind of date we had.

The edible kind- our fave.  And what's better than that- it was two of my fave things in life- Bread and salt.

Okay, so the secret's out.  We made pretzels.  Some "OMGGGGG Pretzels" at that.  *Pats herself on the back*

Let me rewind a little.  Since our anniversary fell on Monday this year, we went ahead and had our date night out this past Saturday.  We went to Tupelo (about 45 minutes from home) and had dinner at Harvey's.   Then:
-We browsed the mall.
-He bought me make-up.
-I bought him screwdrivers. ((The tool, not the drinks. haaa!))
-My phone battery died.
-I had to physically walk the mall and find my honey.  (Ouch.)

Then we stopped and had a pretzel.  You see, me and my man like to eat.  Look at my pictures and you can tell I do, so eating a pretzel is like mandatory when you go to the mall.  Ooooey Goooey Goodness.  Straight to my thighs.

After that, we came home and slept like babies.  :)

So, that brings me to Monday.  Our "official" anniversary date at home.  We both knew what we wanted to do for a week or so before it happened, so we did it.  We made the pretzels with hopes they turned out like the ones we ate on Saturday night.

It all started with a little kit..
(You can buy this at Kroger, and I've seen them in Wal-mart too!)

A few fun moments in the making...

Doesn't it look like a heart?  NOT STAGED! :)
and an end result that was to die for.

So, was ours as good as the ones at the mall?
You betcha.

Date night out- Success!
Date night in- Success!

Here's to many more anniversaries, and I'm confident many more pretzels! :)

And of course, we had a little photo shoot.  Just me and my man :)

P.S.- Doesn't my man look hot in this picture? #luckylady

Me, Myself, & I #1

Comments (2)

I'm working on another new link-up for myself!  This one I seen floating around last month, and wanted to be sure I jumped on this week!
1. When you're feeling down, what do you do to pick yourself up?
-I usually like to grab a good book, and a cup of coffee.  I find that when you read, you can "lose yourself" in the characters and escape from reality for a little while.  If I don't do that, then I like to dig out old photos and take a walk down memory lane.  That (usually!) sparks some good emotions!
2. If you had to live in a different time period, which would you prefer?
-Oh, this is an easy one for me.  I'd totally lived in Marilyn Monroe/Kennedy days.  The whole story just fascinates me and I would love to have seen the world in the view it was then.
3. What is the most creative Halloween costume you've ever worn?
-Well, unfortunately, I don't have any picture of this (if you search really good on Facebook, there is one somewhere, ha!) , BUT with what I answered for #2- one year I was Marilyn Monroe.  Side note: It was a horrible Halloween for me.  I had a cyst that needed to be removed ASAP and I was on high dosage of pain pills and instructed to not even be operating a vehicle.  BUT Halloween is my favorite holiday and I had been way too excited about that costume, so I went to a party anyway.  And yes, I lasted about 30 minutes and came home and about died of pain.  But was it worth it?  Totally.
4. Five weird things about you we wouldn't know without being told?
-Oh, boy!
1. I cannot stand the feeling on my hands after I do laundry.  I think it's the mix of the detergent/fabric softener.  I don't know, but I am OCD about it and have to wash my hands after- every.single.time.
2. I cannot get up out of bed without putting lotion back on before I get back in the covers.  Sometimes I even wake up in the middle of the night and reapply lotion. #truestory
3. When I was a kid, I had a whole collection of match box cars.  Yes, the boy toys.  I freaking loved them.  And I even got into a physical fight over my cousin stealing one of "mine" one day.
4. You will never catch me without my toenails painted.  I think un-painted nails are seriously sickening.  #vomit
5. I do NOT like typical girl things.  I'm not into the "girly" stuff.  I don't like fruity drinks, lots of jewelry, or big shopping sprees.  I've always been raised with the guys and I think that rubbed off on me.  I'd rather watch a game than a dance competition.  I'd rather sit outside and watch a campfire than shop.  I'm just me.
5. What would you tell your 16-year old self?
-That you are about to enter the hardest years of your life.  You will be lied to, back stabbed, betrayed, and hurt.  But don't let it get you down.  Hold your head high and never ever let those who hurt you see you cry.  You wake up each day knowing that God is putting you through whatever trials He sees to make you a better person on the other side.   Never give up on dreams.  And never ever give up on love.  It IS coming and it WILL find you.  Even if you are many years past 16.

My man. In a year.

Love is different for every person.  No two people feel the same, but there is a common thing that in life sometimes we get lucky enough to find that person who is our soul mate.

God allowed me to open a door and begin a beautiful journey with mine a year ago today. B is every thing I have dreamed of since I was a little girl, and so much more.

B, baby, I want to take a minute and thank you for the best year of my life.  You took a girl with broken wings and made her into a woman that feels as though she can fly and conquer the world.  You restored a confidence in myself I have not seen in years.  You challenge me to think outside the box and look at situations in ways I might not normally would have.  You treat me like a princess and open doors just like a true Southern gentleman.  You can look at me and tell me you love me with your eyes.  You wrap you arms around me and make all the problems in the world disappear.  You are my best friend, the best boyfriend, and the best guy I have ever met.  You are my world, love, and I hope you know that I hope one day when we celebrate many years of marriage that I will still feel this exact way.  You have my heart forever.

Baby,...

You will never know how deep my love runs for you, B.  But in one year I've found myself fallen deep, head over heels in love with you.  I cannot imagine my life without you in it and I can't remember my life before you came along.  Thank you for every minute we've shared over the last year.

I have found the one my heart loves.
