Trying something new..

Ya'll know I love a good link-up and I saw one I haven't particated in yet, so here's my stab at it.

This one is Mingle Monday, and I'm linking up here.

This sassy one is all about answering a question.
& this week's Q is..

** What fashion trend do you want to try out this summer? **
I'm not good at fashion. I don't even pretend to be.  I wear what fits, what is comfortable, and what is not expensive.  I'm about as non-fashionable as it gets.  My wardobe is depressing and in need of a major make-over.  So, for a trend this summer I am thinking wearing more "pretty" summer clothes.  I get in the rut of being comfortable and not as much "attractive."
Anyone else feel me? :)
******************************************************
There.  Now that I did that, I'll ramble on like usual. :)  This past weekend was packed FULL.
Friday:
After work- I went to sort through some baby clothes we are trying to get rid of.. [uggggh]
Ran home, ate w/ my honey, and spent time with him before crashing.  (Sorry, baby!)
Saturday:
-Up early, and hit the yard sales.
[Scored a Fossil, Kavu, and Vera Bradley purse, $5 FOR ALL]
And people wonder why I yard sale...........
-Tractor pull with my family (posting on that tomm!)
-Spend some more quality time with my honey, and yet again crashed on him!  Sorry AGAIN, baby!)
Sunday:
-Church w/ Mom and Jenna bugg
-Go see my brother
-Home and did a massive clean of the house... Yikes!
-Birthday party for two of B's nephews. :)
I am worn out.
I love him..

& her :)

It's time to link up over at Lauren's!  Come on!

1.  When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is,   grab my phone to see what time it is since I can't see the huge alarm clock beside my bed.  I'm that blind, yes   .

2.   I can hardly wait for    summer to really kick off.  There is just nothing better than good long, summer days. Oh, and the flip flops and tank tops are just my thing.  And the beach.  And good summer music.  Need I go on?   .

3.  The quickest way to my heart is     music       because     it is sometimes just the right thing I need to hear  .

4. A little known fact about me is that     I like raw homemade biscuit dough.  What? I'm keeping it real around here. :) .

5. The best part about my job is      that I get to interact with so many people on a daily basis, and sometimes I get to be a therapist while I'm helping them! ;) Bank=Therapy- Sure, why not!  .

6. Something I just couldn't live without is     Eyeliner.  I look dead without it  .

7.  Something useful that I wish I knew how to do is   drive a stick shift.  Seriously. .

I'm tardy.

Sorry, kids, I wanted to use that word. It's been ages.

Fun Fact: Did you know my 10 Year Class Reunion is coming up?  Talk about scary.  I am very anxious to see everyone though and see what is going on in their lives.  I mean, yes, we have Facebook and we are "friends" on there, but c'mon.. who ever has much more of a "I stalked you" relationship on there anymore?  This girl doesn't.

Yes, if you are my friend on FB, then I have at some point stalked you.  There I said it.  Guilty as charged.

Back on track, I'm tardy... hehehe. I said it again. :)

Okay, okay, I'm focusing.  I'm late on a post that is well worth the wait I assure you.  It's about my friends.  And you can't go through life without some good friends.

These are the girls I owe my life to.  Each one of them has shaped me into the woman I am today.  Each one has blessed with different things.  Some I have laughed hysterically with, some I have soaked their shoulders as I have cried, and some I've sat in complete silence with and had an incredible conversation.

God blessed me beyond measure when He saw fit for these ladies to come into my life.

I wish I had some good old photos to add to this post.  I am making a note to dig some out, sorry girls.  Let me see if I can talk a little bit about how I come to meet all these lovely ladies.

Oh, duh, I guess I should introduce them.  From left-right, Hillary, myself, Meredith, Mandi, and Whitney

Hillary- 7th grade.  First memory- She came running up to Whitney and I on the "playground" and told Whitney that her mom was having a baby.  Talk about a lasting impression... ;)  You see H & W were already friends, so I guess it sorted of happened naturally after that.  I knew we were friends when she sent me a marker drawer picture of my name.  THAT was true friendship.   And someone else please tell me you know what I'm talking about......
Hillary is one whom you will hear me call "sister" because I've always felt like she was just that.  She and I have had some good, funny, memories I'll always, always cherish.  And the day she moved from Corinth was one of the worst days of my life.  I still hate thinking about it.  But she found her soul mate there, and is now happily married with a cuuuuute little house.  I'm happy for her.

Skip me. ;)

Meredith- I'm not sure WHEN I met Meredith, but I know I knew her before anyone else in the group.  My dad knew her dad and I'm thinking just from random moments in life.  Is that bad? Meredith, do you know??? haha.  Best Memory- Last year's beach trip with the girls.  Mert and I had were sitting on the beach having one of those famous girl heart-to-heart talks and she completely stunned me.  She gave me some advice that I am eternally grateful for.  She brought me out of my rut and made me finally realize just how bad my ex was for me.  That moment my whole life changed.  And I owe her a million times over for giving me that precious gift.
She recently got married and is now going to have us a precious baby boy!  I can't wait to see her again.  Sometimes living far away really really sucks.  So, let's plan a visit!

Mandi- I wish I'd had more time with Mandi.  She had to move too when we were in high school.  (What is up with all my friends moving away????) I remember being at her house the last time before she left.  We were having a girls' sleepover and I had to go home early that night.  My dad called and my grandmother had passed away.  I still hate that I had to leave the fun night, but my mom was in need of her daughter.
There is something I'm glad of though.  Mandi moved off, but that led Mert to finding her man and her happiness.  If Mandi had never been re-located, then Mert's life might be different today.   Funny how things happen isn't it?

Whitney- Oh my goodness again.  This girl and I have been joined at the hip since 5th grade.  She and I were in the same class and our teacher made us get in "groups" in the class one of the first few days of school.  Whitney and I were literally shoved into each other.  We hit it off immediately and still do have a wonderful bond. We survived going to different colleges, living hours apart, and now she is back in our hometown!  She is happily married to her high school sweetheart and has two little boys.  Life is good for her.
Fun fact:  She and I used to sit on the phone, in complete silence, and watch Saved by the Bell together.  No lie.  Oh, and we also planned our future houses from the JCPenney catalogs.

Do you see why these girls make my life go better with them in it?  They are my best friends.  They are irreplaceable.

So, as I mentioned, we recently went to Knoxville to have Meredith's wedding shower.  Yes, after she was already married, but the girl changed her wedding date a gazillion times (love you Mert!) so we stuck with that date. ha!

We had lots of laughs..

The normal poses for pictures..

And watched Mert open up gifts!

We found out a week before the shower that Mert and her hubby were going expecting, so us girls stopped and picked up a cute little baby gift, just for giggles.  We will all get it a big real gift later, but we can say we got Baby King's first gift! :)

Boogie Wipes.  Welcome to Motherhood, Mert!

I am SO glad I have these wonderful women in my life.  You are all such an inspiration and blessing to me!  And it is great to know that after all these years, distance, and life's curveballs that we can all still call each other any time of the day/night and have a confort in our hearts.

Miss you girls, a lot.

Check it out..

Life sure is nice.  :)

Oh, and big thank you to B's ex-wife for being uglier than me.

That's karma, sweetheart.

So, I've seen so many of you fabulous ladies posting pictures on instagram and blog of your little furbabies and I realized that my two youngsters haven't made face time on here lately.

So, this is for all the little pooches out there... & their reading-to-them mama's :)

If you are new around here, then let me introduce you to my babies in "order" of birth.

Hi, I'm big nose, Rudi Jo.

[thought that would wake you up..]

Okay, confession, Rudi isn't exactly "my" dog.  He belongs to my mom & dad, but let's face it.  I'm his taxi to the vet and his only ticket to getting a bath so I like to claim him.  Besides, that big nose is too much.  Be still heart.

Rudi Jo came into our lives five years ago.  We were not "dog shopping" as we were perfectly contect with our other weenie dog, Remi Jackson.
Remi Jackson was my life.  That dog and I worshipped the ground each other walked upon.   He was best buddy in this world.   And sadly, his life ended way too soon.  Without telling the whole story, because frankly I can't get into it without crying, Remi was ran over and killed.  It was a horrible day at my house and I saw my parents' cry over that dog just as much as I did.  We all literally mourned him.

Three days later, my parents' decided there needed to be a dog around the house.  So they went and got Rudi Jo.  I have to honest.  I was not in favor of getting another dog so quickly.  For Heaven's sake, I had just lost my best friend in this world.  And to try and "replace" him just seemed wrong.  So, so wrong.

They didn't listen to me (thankfully, for once!) and brought home this sweet little puppy who just cuddled and gave you those big "puppy dog eyes" when you spoke to him.

Oh, the new puppy smell.. he had it.  I soaked him in.  I smiled again.  I introduced him to his "big brother."

We were in love, again.  And ya know what else happened?

Yes, I bought one too.  Welcome home, Reagan Jensen.  Two weeks later to be exact.  There is just something about that new puppy smell that makes you want one.  I think of it as "pre-baby fever," ha! :)

[Remi Jackson, Rudi Jo, Reagan Jensen... see any patterns? :) ]

I wish had some baby pictures of Reagan, because he was a total stud even then, but since I'm stealing all these from FaceBook, I have to tell you I'm fresh out today.  All those "old" pictures are saved off elsewhere.

Reagan and I had a wonderful two years together.  We moved three times together in that span and I got even closer to him than I had Remi, however possible that is.

Then it wasn't long before oh Rudi did the dirty and out came a slew of little precious, furry, babies.  And I picked the meanest one there was.  No lie.

Yes, she is cute.. but she is fisty.  And mean.  Trust me there, folks. I can't believe this little lady is three.  If you missed the post about her birthday, check that out here

These babies warm their mama's heart each and every day.  Even on those bad days.  And believe me, some days are really bad.  But I can't think of not having them.  They have all listened to be whine, cry, scream, and just hurt.  They've all came and hung their little heads in my lap and just consoled me.  And I'll be forever grateful.

And like I said, there are some bad moments in our house.. but there is also a few of those fun things too. Kind of like...

Meeting little sister's for the first time...

Family Photos..

Meeting your daddy.  Yikes.

Boat rides!

So yes, I'm that crazy girl who takes my dog with me places.  I buy them special treats.  I hand-make them goodies.  I'm that girl that gives them birthday parties.

And I don't apologize at all.

A dog truly is man's best friend.  I'm living proof of it.

I heard this song for the first time this morning while I was getting ready.  And it just spoke to my heart.  B and I went down a long road before we found each other and this is so totally my promise to him.

[ B, baby, I love you.  I know we both got hurt really really badly, but now that is all over and it's in our past.  I promise my love and my life to you and want to make all those bad memories disappear by showering you with new, great ones.  You are my soulmate, my best friend, my lover, and my complete future.  I cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together.  Love, the future Mrs. White ;) ]

Tell me... Are you into it?  Do you find yourself thinking about Christan Grey?

Does he look like this?

Actor Ian Somerhalder arrives at the celebration for the launch of Kimberly Muller and Michael Muller's new book "Last Night I Swam With A Mermaid" with an Earth Day Fete benefitting Philippe Cousteau's EarthEcho International at the Annenberg Beach House on April 22, 2012 in Santa Monica, California.

Heck, it suits me.  And if you are lost on who exactly Christian Grey is, well.. where have you been?

He is the one we all want to... um... He is just the main character in this little book you might have heard about.  The Fifty Shades of Grey

I'm currently reading it and looooooove it.  I've never read an "erotica" type book before and I have to admit I think my cheeks might have blushed a few times, but it is so good and keeps you on the tips of your toes.

I was browsing the internet and came across this article and it was about how Ian Somerhalder wants to play the part of Christian.  So, ladies, what do ya'll think?

Oh, and if you want to read that article you find it right here.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.  Have you read the books?  Do you plan to?  What did you think?

In the meantime, I'm going to go get back in bed with Christian Grey.. in the book of course.  Duh. :)

Sometimes & Always #1

I'm going to twist this up today.  I'm going to participate in Megan's Sometimes & Always.  This will be my first one, so I'm exicted.

OH, and if you don't read Megan, then you should.  This girl is hilarious, and would def be one of my best friends IRL! :) She blogs over at Mackey Madness, so go check her out!

Sometimes..
I wake up not wanting to go to work.

Always..
I am thankful that I have that job to go to.

Sometimes...
I wish cell phones didn't exist.

Always...
I don't know how I'd manage without mine.

Sometimes...
I think how I need to eat healthier.

Always...
I grab something easy (and not good for you) instead.

Sometimes...
I can't believe I found B.

Always...
I feel like God is smiling down on me.

My Monday Mumblings...

How can it be Monday again so soon?

Oh well... it is.  So let's start with a recap of my weekend, shall we?

I ended the work part of Friday with a friend.

Yes, that is my friend. :)

Then I ran to the grocery to get the weekend's munchies, scurried to the ballpark, sat in the rain and watched B's nephew play a baseball game, and then joined his family for pizza.

Then I crashed.  I had lost sleep the night before so your truly was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.... :)

I woke up Saturday morning at 9:00.  Well, no, I WOKE UP at 7:00 AM with Reagan at my door barking.

[Dear Reagan, mom wanted to sleep in.  But thanks.  Although one day I will sing your praises for waking me up on time, let's not do this unless it's a work day, mmmk?  Because I mean, you know what days are work days, right?  Smarrrrrrt doggie.   Love, your mama.]

Okay... so I woke up at 9:00 am and felt amazeballs.  I never, ever, ever get to sleep in so this was glory for me.  I got up, ate this...

and felt even more fabulous.  And fat.

I ran to Wal*Mart (like an idiot!) and rushed through there like the seat of my pants were on fire.  I hate that place.  I can't believe I was young once and voluntarily hung out there.  Yes, we are that small town that hung out at the Wal*mart.  Think it's dumb?  I welcome you to come show me what YOU would have done... kthanks.

While I was in hell Wal*Mart, Bethany (B's sister) text and asked if I wanted to meet her and Donna (their mom) at the movies to see The Lucky OneWell, duh! Girl movie- yes please! So hence, the reason why I rushed through Wal*Mart even faster than I normally do.

Now, my opinion on the movie...

FABULOUS! =)  You def need to see this one if you like a good love story/movie.  I haven't gotten a chance to read the book yet, but it is def on the list and even moreso now that I've seen it on the big screen!

P.S.- Zac Efron.... Do I need to say anything else?

Soo... after a good sleep-in, a trip to hell Wal*Mart, a movie with the girls.... the next thing on my list was Pamper Time.  I don't get enough of this, so I treated myself.

I'm nutso for showing this, but this thing is meant to show the real me.  Well, hello...

So then I proceeded to cook dinner for my man, in my robe.  I think he was impressed at how pretty I got for him.  Thanks, babe. :) We ate din din, and then rented a Courageous.
If you have not seen this movie, then get up and go rent it right now.  B & I both cried with this movie.  Def a must see for everyone.

Now, I'm at Sunday.  It was my baby girl's 3rd birthday!

Please excuse this horrible picture of me.  I was having a no makeup weekend.

Dear Roxie Jane,
Sometimes mama gets onto you a lot.  Sometimes you are mean and make mama feel like I'm losing it.  But then sometimes you crawl up in my lap, give me those eye liner perfect eyes and make me melt into little pieces.  These past three years have been stressful, a huge adjustment, and sometimes aggrivating.  But they have also been some of the sweetest memories I can think of.  You are a great little sister for Reagan.  You keep him on this toes.  You keep me on my toes.  You are one in a million little Roxie Jane.  And we love you!
Happy 3rd Birthday to Mama's Princess!
Love, Reagan & Mom.

I spent the day with my little love bug.  We caught up on Mama's shows and snuggled under the blanket.  Okay, so maybe I snuggled in the blanket and she laid on top of me.  Typical.

And now here we are girls, at Monday again.

So, someone with a more interesting life than myself, please tell me what YOU did :)

XoXo,
Kayla :)

Do I have something great to talk about?  No.

Am I going to ramble on anyway?  Yep. =)

**First up, if you don't know about it already, there is a fabulous giveaway happening over at Sarah, Katie, and Dayna's blog!  Be sure you stop into one of their pages and check it out.  Lots of fun, cute things!!!**

Look who was ready to play with me yesterday!  Isn't she just adorable?  Yeah, she gets it from her aunt. :)

& we might have played with David.

And yes, Davis is in fact a Halloween creature.  LOL!  And he lives in Dad's shop, hence the "man area" in the background.

&& look what I got blooming!

I'd say yesterday wasn't too shabbt of a day! :)

Who is your DOPPEL-GANGER?

Comments (3)

Gosh, that sounds ugly.   And sexual.  Weird sexual, I mean.  Not the good stuff.

I should shut up right now.

Okay, okay, so I've seen all my favorite ladies doing this post and I knew I needed to embarrass myself and do it too.

But first I had to find out what a dopple-ganger was exactly...

Luckily it was nothing like I imagined.  And it's quite funny.

Raven, oh the lovely Raven... she started all this fuss.  So I give her the credit.  It's not nice to not give the woman credit where she is due..
Be sure and check out her blog.  You will fall in love with her.  And then you will hate her when she sails off to Hawaii again...

Okay, it's time.  I've put it off long enough.

Photobucket

So, using this picture...

I got this...

Sorry about the picture.. I just snapped it with my iphone.. I didn't know what else to do. haha.

Now, okay.. am I really that hideous!  I know I have these massive cheeks.. but am I gross looking like her??   I am going to cry.

[devastated.]

Okay, so I hit More Results.

This didn't work out well for me either.

Obviously.

But it found my nose.  My little stupid blog of a nose.

Thanks, Dominic, I almost got away with it.

So, was that fun enough?  Well, don't fret.  I didn't think it was fair to leave my Mr. out of the fun.  So I'm doing him.

And he doesn't even know it.

[evil laugh.]

So, my sweet, sweet B...

I used this picture:

and got this...

He got creepy woman too.

[crying again]

I'm dating Jlo.

Not bad, for a non-lesbian.  At least she's hot. LOL!

Okay, okay.. enough fun has been made around here today.

Ya'll please keep these coming.  I am entertained by this.

And again, thanks Raven.  You made my week.
