Always in our hearts..

The month of March holds two anniversaries.. the passing of two very important people in my family.
This past Thursday was the 18th anniversary of my grandmother's death.  I can still remember that day vividly as we all gathered around her bed and watched her take her final breath in this life.  She was loved by so many and still very missed by us all.
Secondly, today marks the 31st anniverary of my oldest brother passing, way too soon.  He was only a couple weeks shy of his 12th birthday when a car hit him.  It was a tragic moment in my family's life.  I wasn't even born yet so I didn't ever get to meet this wonderful brother of mine.  But his memory lives on in my heart.
This picture was taken at my wedding this past October.  This was the photo for "my" family picture.  Of course, Daryl's picture was used. He is my brother still, no matter what his tombstone reads.  The guys in the blue shirt and the white shirt are my other two good looking brothers!

We love you Mamaw and Daryl, and we can't wait to see you again!
P.S.- Don't you love that lightshining in?  That's my grandmother and brother's presence.  No doubt.

  1. Love that y'all chose to hold the picture of your brother in your picture! Such a special moment. Praying for you and your family.

  2. Praying for your family. I'm sure it's a hard month. And the sunshine is definitely their presence.

  3. Oh wow--how heartbreaking that you never even got to meet your older brother. Thinking of your family during this time!

  4. I'm so sorry for your losses. Your wedding picture is beautiful. I had an aunt whom I was very close to as well as a grandma, both whom passed away. I will also be including them in my upcoming wedding in some way (still determining how). I love that you did it!

  5. I am sorry for your loss sweet girl! I understand what its like. You are amazing person and I know you can get through this month!

  6. It's so great to keep them around in spirit and memory! So sorry for this diffcult time.
