Bragging on B...

Yes, it is going to be another post bragging on the man...

SO!?!?

Bless his heart.. he was a big sport last night and did a few home projects for me.

You see... I have a dad and two brothers who are very capable of helping a girl out... but they are also some of the biggest procrastinators I know.  Maybe it's in the Nelms blood and it skipped me..!??! Okay.. I know you are laughing.. I can procrastinate too..

Anyway.. this past weekend I got a new picture frame for Jenna's Christmas picture and one for last year's [insert procrastination example..] Christmas picture of my nephews, Kaleb & Kamo.   Well, I knew it would take an act of Congress to get one of the three down to my house to help me hang them.

Now, I can do a lot of things myself, but hanging a picture just isn't one of them.  I am terrible at it.  I got a great eye when someone else is doing it, but when it's me.. I can't tell crap.  Soooo.. I did what I had to do... and ask Brian.

His answer: YES..  and he meant it...

......... & I might have went into major shock at getting a YES answer....

So, last night my handy man got his tools out and hung them bad boys up.... and smiled doing so.  I asked him if he was annoyed to be doing it and he said "No babe, I love doing little things like this.."

SCORE!

So... some of you know and some you do not, but my Christmas gift from my parents' this year is a new bathroom vanity.  I have failed to get a Home Tour post up, but just know that I've hated my vanity since the day I moved in.  I painted it to "help it" but I have still always had a hatred for that thing.  The counter was too curved and nothing would sit up there right.  And as I told B, I am a girl.  We have makeup and hair spray that needs to be on that counter and not falling in the sink.  He rolled his eyes, but I know you ladies agree and know exactly what I'm talking about.

So anyway, my dad and brother installed the new vanity yesterday after I gave them a deadline on when to get it done. But the top counter part was moving around.. !?!? So I told B about it and we made a trip to Lowe's last night and got the stuff to fix it and my sweet man did! :)

AND... one of the doors on the new vanity was hanging lower than the other side, so he got in the floor with his drill and fixed that up too.

LUCKY.

To some of you this may sound small, but this gal NEEDS a man like B around.. haha.  I told him I am pulling out my "master list" of what all needs to be done and he smiled.  He just doesn't know I'm serious. ha!!

Anyway... Enough about that.  I know you are sick of hearing about B... even though you might as well close this blog because you will from here on out....ha!

But in OTHER news... today is my oldest nephew's birthday.  14 years old.  And that makes ME feel old.  The night Kaleb was born was one of the best nights of my life.  I looked at that precious baby and fell in love instantly.  And now, 14 years later, he still does me the same way.  He and I have always had a bond that I cannnot explain, but I am SUCH a proud aunt today.  My "baby" is a young man now.  And gorgeous, so if you know any good SINGLE girls.. then tell a sister.  I cannot wait to see what else the future brings for this blessing in my life.

My gorgeous nephew, Kaleb.

                  HAPPY BIRTHDAY KALEB!
You have made my life a better one just by being a part of it!!!

Monday.. We meet again.

What a fantastic weekend I have had!!! This has been one of the best that I can remember in awhile.

It's amazing what being in love does to a girl... I swear I am much more pleasant to be around. So for those of you who know me IRL, and have lived through the last year's worth of hell- then go give B a big thank you hug. He has changed my life.

Speaking of B. I have made a decision on something.  Some of you know I have a small ladybug tattoo on my right hip.  All my life I wanted one and when the opportunity came with some friends in college one night, I did it and got it.  And I have never spent one second regretting it.  My nickname has always been "bugg" for whatever reason that is.  And so it just fit that growing up I had an assortment of ladybug things.  So that was always what I saw getting.  And I did.

But it's true what they say... you get one, you want another.  And that's the spot I've been in the last few years since I got mine.  But it's hard to pick a second thing.  I never saw myself getting the second one.  But of course I wanted it to be something near and dear to my heart as well!

And I have made up my mind.

I think wrist tattoos are so cute on girls, when done tastefully.  So... I shall have a wrist tattoo.  I want it on the left and it will be mine and B's wedding date.   Yes, I am planning a tattoo of a date that isn't even scheduled yet.  That shows you just how confident I am that I am marrying this man.  I told him that can be my wedding present from him.  ha!

I want it something like this...

Except instead of the "I love him", I want the date.   So, opinions?

Now, onto what I did for the weekend that was so good...

Well, Friday night Brian was working a wedding rehearsal at the church (doing sound for it)  so I was without plans. My mom kept Jenna overnight, so I went to her house and played with Jenna bugg for awhile and then I came home and was in bed kind of early after watching Say Yes to the Dress for a little while.. ha!

Saturday morning I was up bright and early and rode with mom to take Jenna home before we set out to Tupelo for some Christmas shopping.  There was one gift for B that I really wanted to find, but was kind of stressed I wouldn't so close to Christmas time, BUT I DID!  Woot woot! :)

I ended up finishing (except the few gift cards I'm running on lunch today to purchase) so I'm pretty excited about Christmas this coming weekend and everyone getting to see what we all have and more importantly spending time together

Sunday was spent with church of course (which was a FABULOUS service) and then Mom and I decided to browse around town just shopping again.  Neither of us were looking for anything in particular but I ended up getting three picture frames.  Two are for mine and B's picture (one for me, one for him) and then the third is a new idea I have for displaying Kaleb/Kamo/Jenna's picture.  I will refer to the new space as my "Proud aunt's bragging spot" ha!  I will get some pictures of this once B is at the house and helps me make it happen.

After all that browsing, I went home and made some dog treats.  Now if you've read this blog much at all then you know that Reagan and Roxie are my children.  They may have four legs and look a little different than me but they are my kiddos

This is batch #1 of the treats!!!  I tested it out on all the sweet doggies I am making some for and they all seemed to approve.  So sometime this week I am making up a couple more batches.  It was SO easy, so if you have pets.. you should do this for them!

Then, after all that.. last night B just made my night!  You see since he was working that wedding this weekend and had rehearsal Friday night and then Saturday the wedding (and I was gone shopping anyway) we didn't get to see each other.  So he surprised me last night and called to see if I wanted to meet at McAlister's and eat a little bite and just hang out for a few since.  Um, YES B I WILL GO.  Duh, boy! :)

It was so thoughtful and sweet on his part.  He said he just really wanted to see me for a few minutes because we hadn't in a few days and he knows this week will be crazy for the both of us.  I was impressed with him.  And I love little spontaneous dates.  :)

I am crazy about him..  And if you are my friend on facebook.. then you can see why.  He left me the sweetest message on there yesterday.  So in case you aren't my friend on there (Um, you should be.. so look me up NOW) then this is what he posted..
Yes, that's my sweet man.  He is a keeper.. even if he misspelled "awesome"... texting while driving I assure you.. ha!

Well, ladies and gents, it is time for me to get back to work... shh! :)  I hope you all have a fabulous day..

6 Days to Christmas!!! :)

Fill In The Blank

It's a rainy day here in Mississippi...

.....perfect weather for me to have stayed inside my comfy warm bed, yes?

[Everyone should nod their heads yes at this point.]

It's Friday, so you know I'm going to be filling in the blanks, Lauren style.  So go link up with her here.

1.   My most favorite "little thing" is   when Brian kisses my forehead or cheek, "just because".  The little things in life TRULY are what make it special  .
2.   I give anything to  marry Brian.  Yes, cliche sounding, I know.  But it's the truth. Every time I am with him I KNOW more and more that he is the man I've waited for all this time   .

3.  I can't believe   that Christmas is 10 days away!  I feel like we JUST had Halloween!    .

4. The one thing I'd like to achieve today is   making my list for what all I need to grab tomorrow while out shopping    .

5.  The last thing I want to do today is   be dealing with awful back pain that is going on with me  .

6.  If I were writing my own blank today, it would say:  What is your favorite childhood Christmas memory   .
7.  My favorite candle scent is   EASY PEASY answer.  Margarita from Bath & Body Works.  I threatened to have a "Margarita Christmas" at my house this year. (I ended up with the Cranberry, which is good too.. but mama misses the smell of margaritas in da house!)   .

So, what's on everyone's agenda for the weekend?  I am going to brave the crowds and the crazy folks and head out shopping tomorrow.  Yes, I have lost my mind.  But I have a few small gifts I need to pick up.  I know what I need/want for the most part so that should help with all the choas on my part anyway.  My mom is being a sweetheart and agreed to go with me.  Bless her soul.. ha!

Then Saturday night I get to go see a gorgeous little girl.  My sweet roomie from Ole Miss had her baby and I cannot wait to go see her!  I have been saving every picture they have text me.  I love me some baby girls! :)

Then Sunday after church, mom and I are going to make some Christmas candy!  I am looking forward to an afternoon with her.  We haven't gotten to just hang out much lately with all that's been going on so it will be nice to just get some one-on-one time in with her.  That is if we don't kill each other.. possiblity too. :)

I hope you all have a LOVELY weekend.  Oh, and I almost forgot... Anyone know where I can find some mistletoe?  I don't have any in my house and by golly I got a man this year.  I am getting a darn kiss-a-roo underneath that baby! :)
